HOW TO BUY ART was an experimental social study art sales self-service booth installation. HOW TO BUY ART debut exhibition was held in December 2015 at the X-Contemporary Art Fair in Miami. Exhibition viewers were invited to choose the artwork they liked and serve themselves. Instructions on how to complete purchases were on the wall, and buyers walked away with their purchases on the day. HOW TO BUY ART was an approach to sales. Consumer performance plays a part in the buying and selling art. The buyer becomes part of the experience in a different way; there is uncertainty and surprise in this approach. The experience of buying work in this way adds to the story of the work itself. The exchange between the buyer and artist happens within a context of pure exposure and trust.
